House Of Dragons Cast Change Episode 6

Who Else Has Been Recast In House Of The Dragon Season 1 Episode 6?

Why did House of the Dragon Episode 6 replace Rhaenyra and Alicent with older actors Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke?

In addition to recasting Alicent and Rhaenyra, there have also been other casting changes in House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 6. Matt Smith still plays Daemon, Paddy Considine plays a quickly-aging King Viserys, and Steve Toussaint is still Corlys Velaryon. However, Eve Best has replaced Emily Carey as Rhaenys Velaryon, and Harry Collett has replaced Leo Ashton as her son, Laenor Velaryon.

House of the Dragon made a similar casting shake-up in Episode Six on Sunday night, replacing two of its leads after a massive time jump.

As of the most recent episode, we've seen the result. Original Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower actors Milly Alcock and Emily Carey have been replaced by Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke, respectively. The change was made to reflect the characters' ages as the story progresses.

The recasting of Rhaenyra and Alicent is not the first time that House of the Dragon has made a major casting change. In the show's pilot episode, Paddy Considine replaced Matt Smith as King Viserys Targaryen. The change was made due to Smith's scheduling conflicts with another project.

The recasting of these characters is a significant event for House of the Dragon. It marks the first time that the show has replaced any of its main cast members. However, the changes are necessary to reflect the characters' ages and the show's overall story.
